Since 2006 over 2,500 bowlers have raised over $250,000 in support of first responders at our annual Bowling for the Brave events.

In May 2020, Foundation 58 is launching the Inaugural Bowling for the Brave Championships.  This tournament series features four regional Bowling for the Brave events in May & June leading up to a championship event in August.  Each regional event will have a Saturday & Sunday session where teams of five bowlers will compete in support of a first responder organization of their choosing for a chance to win their chosen organization a grant from a $20,000 grant pool at each event.

This event will be a no-tap bowling tournament where strikes are awarded on the first ball when eight pins are knocked down in game 1, nine pins are knocked down in game 2, and ten pins are knocked down in game 3.

The first-place team’s supported organization will get a $4,000 grant from the 58 Cares Grant Program of their choosing.  The second-place team’s organization will get a $3,000 grant and the third-place team’s organization will get a $2,000 grant.  The remaining $11,000 grant pool will be separated into four $2,000 flights and three $1,000 flights.  Flight winners will bedetermined by the total number of teams participating.

The top three teams at each event, and the top two fundraising teams from each event will get entry into the championship in August where another $20,000 of grants will be awarded.  The entry fee for this event is a give/get format of $58/person or $290/team.
